Obviously one cannot get through winter without at least one leather jacket. I’ll go as far as to say one can’t get through life without it. I had been looking around for a biker style jacket since the chill set in and when I saw this Only and Sons baby on Superbalist it was love at first sight. (I could have made a lame pun there about “love at first site” but I have changed.)
This passed weekend I had the privilege of hiking with Team Fusion Hikes on their winter hikeaway in Mpumalanga. I made a cute little hiking essentials post for Instagram thinking this hike would be a chatty walk in the (slightly bigger than normal) park. Man was I in for a surprise.
I am completely and utterly besotted with this coat! I wish I could where it everywhere I go like one of those toddlers that won’t let go of an item of clothing. I can’t tell you enough about why it’s so right for my life because I wouldn’t know where to start – the colour, the length the fact that it’s sleeveless. Sweet poodles, it’s perfect!
I’m really glad I wore these compromise length shorts when I did because just two days later the weather took a nasty Capetowny turn (No offence CPTeers). It’s chilly in Joho now.
The colder weather is slowly creeping into the city of lights (Johannesburg) and as such I will have to start introducing winter layers over and under my ensembles. Booooo! I’m definitely more of a summer bunny than an ice princess but mother nature won’t be swayed by my preference.
I love this colour!
At the moment it’s on my nails, my lips, my IG grid – everydamnwhere. I’m one of those favourite-colour-phase people. I don’t have a favourite colour that my friends could bank on in a gameshow, I have phases of colour obsession, you know?
After watching this Ted Talk about 30 Day Challenges I decided what better way to kick off the year than to embark on my own challenge, fitness. When I say I decided I mean that Mukondi decided for us. We set off the very next day so as not to procrastinate or wait for Monday (which I’ve learnt is like the gateway drug of procrastination). The challenge was quite simply to run 5km every single day for 30 days. We would track our distance and pace using the Nike Plus app. Easy right? Nope. Here are a few things I learnt through this challenge:
Quick one. Last week I had a really hectic presentation at work and I wasn’t feeling myself so I turned to flowers to pep myself up and own that day. Lately I’m on my •Vuka•Ugheze•Ubangene steez.
Summer is in full swing so for once I don’t have to defend my choice in girly colours. I’m in pink! (Or salmon to the colour snobs) This is my absolute favourite skirt mainly because when I’m in I feel like my mother – feminine and confident.
I suppose one could say that this is an incidental post. I definitely didn’t set out to visit a coffee shop today let alone write a blog post about one. But that’s the thing about blogging, once the itch kicks off, there is no stopping it.
