If you’ve been following me for even 2,5 seconds, you’ll know how much I love a good Coffice. What is a Coffice you ask? A coffee (Coff) shop that one can work from like an office (Ffice). I literally rely on coffices on days when I need to zone out and get things done. Or even just days when I have to work between meetings. I have created an arsenal of coffices around town so that I know where to stop and get online when I need to. I pick my favorites based on wifi speed, noise levels, food, coffee (I’m no cofficionado though) and my personal bias which I like to call ‘vibes’. My favorites, in no particular order (because suspense is life) are as follows:
Oh the sweet smell of Saturday in Joho. Well… it can be sweet if you pay a churro inspired visit to Perron. I’m certain this isn’t the first time you read about my favourite Mexican restaurant in town but I couldn’t resist sharing this post with you.
Pictured in the above image is a woman simultaneously in a moment of sheer bliss and ferocious attack. I can’t really explain why but me and bun bao are the greatest of friends. I’m no food aficionado but I can testify having had a taste-gasm during my recent visit to Momo Baohaus.
Bubbly and full of zeal isn’t a description of the Pongrazc MCC Pali served as a welcome drink but rather my attempt at packaging her amazing personality into a single sentence. Palesa Seabela more fondly known as Chef Pali Pali runs a culinary business aptly called Parsley On Thyme. Under this business she creates many delicious meals for catering, private events and any sort of bash you can think of.
I suppose one could say that this is an incidental post. I definitely didn’t set out to visit a coffee shop today let alone write a blog post about one. But that’s the thing about blogging, once the itch kicks off, there is no stopping it.
With the heavy workload I’ve been under these past few weeks a box of donuts dropped off at the office with my name on it was the saving grace I needed to power through. A girl needs her treats when times are tough.
These delicious creations are from a spanking new brand of donuts called Dluxe Donuts, a Jozi based company THAT DELIVERS! Now all your sweet treat needs will be met…at your doorstep. Think brunches, birthdays, baby-showers, girls’-night-ins or even just girl’s got a craving days.
Did you say chicken and waffles?
That was my reaction when I first heard about the new cool spot in Braam, Mr Big Stuff. Okay here’s my best attempt at describing a bite of this old American favourite: Savoury, sweet, crunchy, soft soul hugging palette rousing wonder. Don’t knock it till you have tried it. After the first bite I couldn’t grasp why we haven’t been serving this combo all along. Chicken and waffles go together like Will and Jada, like Sundays and slippers, like Cream Soda and a hang over. [Speaking of which I’m sure this combo also makes for a kick-ass hangover buster.]
