Here’s a really nifty trick I learned from my sister. Using our very own South African Rooibos Tea to calm my skin. Last week I had a crazy rash all over my face practically out of the blue. I looked the one moment and there it was, all over me like a… well like a bad rash as they say. I audited my diet for the days leading up to this and came up with nothing new so I still have no clue what caused it but luckily I now know how to get rid of it.
I did a little reading about the benefits of Rooibos Tea for the skin and I was so pleasantly surprised. There are a number of ways one can use the tea but today I’ll share the four simple ways I used it to clear away my mystery face rash.
- Drink it.
This is as straight forward as it sounds. Just brew a pot and have a cup or three daily. No sugar or milk though!
- Steam your face with it.
I use a head scarf (iduku) to cover my head over a steaming bowl of tea for up to five minutes to really open my pores with it.
- Rinse your face with it.
Let it cool off and use it as toner
- Exfoliate with the remaining leaves.
I open the teabag brew it as leaves so that I can then use the remaining leaves to exfoliate every now and then by gently scrubbing them all over my face before rinsing them away with cool water.
I am no beauty therapist but this really did my face a world of good. Hope you enjoy trying it.
